Cougar Connect – March 11, 2024

Dear Coolidge Families,

I hope everyone adjusted to springing ahead with the time change today!  I am not a fan of losing an hour but the good news is that we will have more hours of daylight and spring will be here soon! There are a lot of events coming up to look forward to like the Science Fair, Plant Sale, Wizards Game, and Theme Day! Read below for all the info.

Have a wonderful week and May The Force Be With You!!

Harlem Wizards vs. Wyckoff Teachers Game

The Wizards event on April 4th has sold out at this time. If you didn’t have an opportunity to get your tickets last Sunday evening, be sure to add your name to the wait list on the ticketing website.

The good news is that volunteers are still needed! If you were not able to purchase a ticket in time, volunteering gives you the opportunity to attend the game and not miss this fun event! We still need people to help with Crowd Control, Merchandise Sales, Concession Sales, and a few more positions! Any volunteer help for this event is welcomed. As a thank you for helping out, volunteers will be receive free admission to the game. Once you sign up for a slot, please contact Sammi at coolidgeptofundraising@gmail.com  and we’ll provide you with more information regarding your free admission.

Science Fair

The Science Fair will take place at Coolidge on Wednesday, March 13th.  The deadline to register for participation has passed. For students participating here are some important reminders:

Scientists typically create a trifold board (supplied by you) with their experiment to showcase on a table in the MPR. Scientists will stay at their table during the fair to present their findings, but will have time to explore the other projects in the room.

Do not use anything valuable at your table. The room will be busy and we wouldn’t want anything of value to be misplaced. Also, please remember that no flammables or dry ice are permitted to be used.

Set up of the projects will be on March 13th after school.

Use your imagination, be creative and most importantly, have fun!

Just a reminder, this is not a drop off event.  A parent or guardian must be present for the duration of the event.

Please contact Marissa Abruzzo ([email protected]) or Kerri Norcia ([email protected]) with any questions.

Read Week Visit with Robert Skead

The PTO is proud to have been able to fund a visit from author and Coolidge Alum Robert Skead! Mr. Skead engaged and spoke with the students about a variety of topics including what inspires him and the process that he uses when writing his works. The students were amazed and excited that a former Coolidge student is a published writer and we hope that they went away with the knowledge that they can accomplish anything they set their mind to! This was a fantastic and fun way to conclude a successful Read Week 2024!!
