Cougar Connect – February 25th, 2024
Dear Coolidge PTO Families,
Welcome back! I hope everyone enjoyed the winter break. While I was writing this update, I realized just how quickly this school year is going by and how many things we are accomplishing together as a PTO. We are fortunate to have such an active group of parents who help create fun, enriching, and memorable experiences for the students at Coolidge. Thank you for your time and contributions! Have a great week!
Pizza Fundraiser Thank You!
Thank you to Michelle Gibney and Sammi Eletto for organizing a delicious Francesca's DIY pizza fundraiser. We had a great turnout from the Coolidge community and hope everyone enjoyed their Valentine’s Day pizza creations!
Science Fair
Please read the following message from our PTO Science Fair chairs, Marissa Abruzzo and Kerri Norcia:
The Coolidge School Science Fair is open to all scientists in grades K-5 on March 13, 2024,from 6:30-7:30 in the MPR. Discover your inner Einstein and start planning your experiments to display & present in the Multipurpose Room. You can present an experiment by yourself, with a friend, or in a small group.
Scientists typically create a trifold board (supplied by you) with their experiment to showcase on a table in the MPR. Scientists will stay at their table during the fair
to present their findings, but will have time to explore the other projects in the room.
Do not use anything valuable at your table. The room will be busy and we wouldn’t want anything of value to be misplaced. Also, please remember that no flammables or dry ice are permitted to be used.
Use your imagination, be creative and most importantly, have fun!
Participation is easy! Fill out the form linked below, create your experiment, and set up your project on March 13th after school. Come to the fair that evening to showcase your project and visit other scientist’s stations! Sign up no later than March 8.
Just a reminder, this is not a drop off event. A parent or guardian must be present for the duration of the event. Please contact Marissa Abruzzo ([email protected]) or Kerri Norcia ([email protected]) with any questions.
Read Across America Week - March 4th- 8th
Read Across America week is coming up and Mrs. Needleman has organized some really fun ways to celebrate! Click here for the schedule and details.
The PTO is excited to join the fun by sponsoring a visit from local author and former Coolidge alum, Robert Skead! We’re excited to provide this opportunity for the students and grateful for the support of the PTO community that makes it possible.
Economy Shop
This week is a Coolidge week at the Economy Shop!

We’re also in need of managers!! It’s all the same volunteer work except you get to choose the music and use the scanner! Contact Ashley if you’re interested in manager training.
Thank you SO MUCH for all your help in keeping the Economy Shop open and running smoothly. We’re 100% volunteer run, and 100% of the profits go back to our schools.
