Dear Coolidge PTO Families,

Happy Sunday! Here’s your weekly update, filled with information about events, fundraisers, and volunteer opportunities for the PTO. This is a busy time of year, and we appreciate all of our amazing volunteers who keep our programs going while managing the hustle and bustle of the holiday season. Thank you volunteers!

Also, a quick reminder that the Coolidge PTO Meeting will take place this Thursday at 6:30 pm on Zoom. A meeting link will be sent in a separate email. We hope to see everyone there! The unapproved minutes from the November meeting can be found here.

Board of Education Meeting Tomorrow

The Wyckoff Board of Education will meet tomorrow, December 9th, at 6:30pm at EMS.

Green Team Used Toy Drive

The Coolidge PTO Green Team is pleased to again participate in our Annual Used Toy Drive on TUESDAY, DECEMBER 10 from 3:00 – 3:30pm at the MPR doors. It’s a wonderful initiative which helps keep plastic out of landfills while providing toys to children in need. The recipient of our donations is Victory Outreach Manhattan, a church that will distribute the toys to kids in need throughout Harlem.

Toy tips!

Imagine giving a toy to a friend: no missing parts or broken pieces. It must be ready to play with and in good condition.
Toys should be clean, fully intact, and with working batteries (if applicable).

NO stuffed animals.
Boxes of puzzles and games should be taped or tied closed.
If you have a significant amount of toys, please bring them in black trash bags.

We are very lucky to have so much this holiday season. We look forward to seeing Coolidge families dropping off their toys at pick-up on 12/10 by the MPR!

Grades K-3 Kids Night: Signup By Friday

Kids night is such a fun and exciting event held at the school. Our theme is the Coolidge Zoo. We hope that everyone is able to make it! Please fill out the appropriate permission slip link below whether or not your child is attending (this helps us know that everyone saw it). If you have more than one child attending, please complete one form for each child.

Tons of Toys/ Tons of Treasures Shopping Days

Thank you to everyone who supported to Coolidge PTO Shopping Days at Tons of Toys and Tons of Treasures last week! Store owners, Ken and Michelle, have generously added an additional shopping day to their calendar for Coolidge.

This Friday, December 13th from 10am – 7pm, you can support a local business, wrap up your holiday shopping, and support your elementary school too. The stores are located right in the center of town and offer a variety of items for everyone on your holiday shopping list. You can find gifts for kids, family members, teachers, babysitters, and neighbors all in one place. Gift wrapping is available with your purchase!

15% of your sale will be donated to the Coolidge PTO. Simply mention Coolidge when you get to the register.

Coolidge Staff Holiday Cookie Walk

All Bakers and Buyers we need you! The PTO is showing our appreciation for all of the hard work the Coolidge staff does each day! We are having a “cookie walk” to help get into the spirit of the winter season!

We are asking for volunteers to bake or buy 4 dozen cookies. Staff will be able to enjoy the cookies and take them home as well! If baking we are asking for recipes so we can also gift the staff the recipes.

December 23rd All Sport Camp Day @ Superdome

Will your child be home from school on December 23rd? Don’t worry – we’ve got them covered!

Superdome is now offering an All Sport Camp for Wyckoff students in grades K-8, from 9am – 3pm on 12/23. A variety of activities will be offered in a supervised envrionment. Lunch is included – just send a water bottle and nut-free snack!

Lunch Volunteers

We have some open spots for anyone who wants to help serve lunch on Mondays and Wednesdays at Coolidge. This is a great way to get involved at our school. Check out the signup page on the PTO website for info. Thank you for helping out!

Economy Shop Updates

The holiday season is in full swing!! Just a few weeks left to prepare all your gifts and what better place to shop than the Economy Shop?! We’ve got games for Family Game Night, baby clothes for your great niece or nephew, and oh so many holiday decorations! Before you head out to spend tons of money elsewhere SHOP LOCAL and pay a fraction of the price with us.

As always, we’re in desperate need of volunteers. Please take a moment this month to sign up for a shift and show your gratitude for all the $$ the Economy Shop raises for Coolidge through the gift of your time. We’ll see you there!

Parents Night Out

Here’s a message from our Parents Night Out Co-Chairs – Christina DeGennaro and Megan Wright:

Save the Date for Parents Night Out – March 1, 2025 at Bottagra!

Coolidge parents will get together for another fun Parents Night Out on March 1, 2025! Buffet style food will be served, beer and wine are included with a cash bar available. There will be a silent auction and games as well as music provided by DJ Gino! Look out for tickets to be on sale in early January!
